Waterman: a Turn-of-the-Century Toughs omnibus of historical fantasy and retrofuture science fiction

This volume is nother wonderful addition to Dusk Peterson's collection. The theme of institutionalized Master/slave and Master/liegeman service gives a strong groundwork to the stories. While the theme itself is nothing new in this type of stories, the way the characters put their own spin on the service is what makes the story as good as it is. Compared to some of the author's other works, these stories are somewhat easier to read from a language stand point, which makes it easier for the reader to follow the flow of the plotline.
All in all, a wonderful read that will keep you thinking long after you put down the e-book reader.

Not too sure what to say. That was possibly one of the most devastating stories I've ever read. I kind of want to go curl up and cry now.
