I think this may be one of the saddest things I've read in a while. But I loved it. It shows what can, and often does, happen to families that are considered "different".

I liked it. But just as I was starting to get into it, it ended. To me even a little more would have made it better.

I loved this! Movie Star and K-9 Officer, I could actually step into the world(s) you wrote about. I'm paraphrasing this from someone I know on another site, "Abuse is usually off putting in a story, but if it’s approached right it can actually make a story better. If not, it can make it worse." You added a real element, and didn't make it feel like it was just thrown in so Shane and Tyler could meet. It's an important part of the story, and I'm glad you didn't treat it as,"Oh, it happened, now it's over. Whatever.". Thank you for giving a hard subject some respect.
