Jacqueline Edwards

Biography

Jacqui Edwards rides horses; does Karate; goes to the gym; cooks and shares showers with her German Shepherd, Nigella. She also writes stories and poetry, often accompanied by her captivating illustrations. Her artwork employs a wide variety of media from sketching and pastel works to computer graphics. In her spare time, she is a mother to four beautiful blonds, and the other half of High Country Heifers, an internationally successful artificial breeding company. She has always had a passion for art, in various forms, and for good stories. She has plenty of characters to choose from amongst the horses, cows, chickens, dogs, cats, and children that live with her and husband Dale, on a picturesque farm in the Victorian High Country town of Mansfield. Born in Canada and having grown up in New Zealand, Jacqui has lived many adventures herself, much like the various creations in her highly entertaining stories. Her four daughters and seven nephews keep her constantly in touch with the world, through the eyes of children, from different stages of life. Her stories draw on those classic childhood moments and memories that all of us have experienced. Always able to see the funny, endearing and positive side of any situation, Jacqui brings her stories alive with interesting, relatable characters and scenarios, easily loved by both children and adults. The rhythmic patterning of her texts provides a lyrical sense to the stories that carry the audience along through her engaging tales. This is Jacqui’s first children’s book.
