- Field Trip
on June 02, 2011
This was a fun little romp. Great narrative voice, meticulous world building, and professional writing and editing. The characters were well-developed and distinct, including the personalities of the little third grade monsters on their field trip. Cute cover, too; love the nod to Judy Jetson!
The story stands well on its own, although I wouldn't have minded if it had gone on for longer, and I would love a further installment in the burgeoning relationship between Miss James and Sergeant Chamblin. If you enjoy light and funny science fiction, you could do a lot worse than this.
- Save My Soul (Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy: Preternaturals Book 2)
on June 18, 2011
This was a fun book, and a pleasant surprise. With the incubus angle, I thought it might be a lot more explicit than it was, one sexual encounter after the other with not much else to recommend it, but as it turned out, I couldn't have been more wrong. There's plenty of steam, lots of wonderful sexual tension, and a little bit of explicit sex, but in addition, there are well-drawn, sympathetic primary and secondary characters, and an interesting story. And although the final outcome was never really in doubt, the last plot twist took me totally by surprise. Didn't see that one coming at all. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys paranormal romance!
- Let Us Prey
on July 18, 2011
This is a light and funny PI novel/mystery with interesting, well-developed characters and excellent twists and turns. The inside look at the publishing industry is hilarious, and the setting - Santa Cruz, California - makes for a great backdrop to the murder mystery with ties back to a bestselling vampire book series. The guys are hot, the women are funny, and the writing is good. What more could you want?
