  • Field Trip on June 02, 2011

This was a fun little romp. Great narrative voice, meticulous world building, and professional writing and editing. The characters were well-developed and distinct, including the personalities of the little third grade monsters on their field trip. Cute cover, too; love the nod to Judy Jetson! The story stands well on its own, although I wouldn't have minded if it had gone on for longer, and I would love a further installment in the burgeoning relationship between Miss James and Sergeant Chamblin. If you enjoy light and funny science fiction, you could do a lot worse than this.
  • Save My Soul (A Paranormal Romance: Preternaturals Book 2) on June 18, 2011

This was a fun book, and a pleasant surprise. With the incubus angle, I thought it might be a lot more explicit than it was, one sexual encounter after the other with not much else to recommend it, but as it turned out, I couldn't have been more wrong. There's plenty of steam, lots of wonderful sexual tension, and a little bit of explicit sex, but in addition, there are well-drawn, sympathetic primary and secondary characters, and an interesting story. And although the final outcome was never really in doubt, the last plot twist took me totally by surprise. Didn't see that one coming at all. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys paranormal romance!

Great book, great cause! I really enjoyed the short stories in this anthology, and the fact that these awesome writers are donating all proceeds from the book to breast cancer research - not keeping a dime for themselves! - makes it even sweeter. Alison Brennan's "Original Sin" novella in and of itself is well worth the cover price, and all the other stories, which are great in their own right, are cherries on the top. Go ahead and buy it; you won't be sorry!
