Djinnx’d – clever title, lovely cover, effervescent prose, interesting storyline, engaging characters, witty banter. All that I hope for and more than I can usually reasonably expect from a book I found within these pages. My only slight criticism, the book is too short and the end came too soon. (Which is better at least, than my feeling that the book was too long and that the end would never come I suppose.) But happily, I can now go and avail myself of the sequel, so that’s all right. Recommended reading for all those who like their wit sharp and their fantasy comic. I am sincerely looking forward to the next book

Five stars to Nicola Rhodes again. A worthy sequel, proving Nicola Rhodes to be “no one hit wonder” and Tamar and Denny to have a lot more mileage in them yet. I love the humour, and the way the book does not address the cliffhanger at the end of Djinnx’d till the very end, keeping you hanging on even longer. Very cleverly done. The new characters are welcome and fit in perfectly. I liked them just as much as the main characters from Djinnx’d. She certainly knows how to write “people” As before the book unfolds before you like a movie, drawing you in and placing the action before your very eyes. This would actually make a great movie. I’d go and see it

Nicola Rhodes just keeps getting better and better. A whole new spin on time travel commences the book - no time machines here. Just when you think you’ve got the hang of that, you get thrown into another dimension and after that - well, that’s when it gets REALLY weird. The usual red herrings are thrown into the mix to keep you guessing and I loved the final denouement. What a way to catch a villain! (ooops tiny plot spoiler there) It’s original, funny and has a wonderful upside down view of life the universe and everything. “Mainframe” – classic! Don’t know what I’m on about? – read it. I can recommend it 100%

Supberb! A giant leap forward for Nicola Rhodes into the realms of serious fantasy (as opposed to the comic variety she does so well) and accomplished with aplomb. This book took me by surprise after the light vivacity of the Tamar Black books, but Nicola Rhodes has taken her writing to a whole new level and made the change from comic to epic with apparent ease. Which isn’t to say she has lost her sense of humour entirely - thank God! No ponderous, humourless, self important pontificating here; a common failing of the genre, but that’s just my opinion. In point of fact, although descrbed as a Fantasy, this book seems to be a blend of both Fantasy and Sci Fi, taking the best of both and turning into a whirlwind adventure from page one right through to the end. The ending does not seem to leave much room for anything further and yet we are promised more to come (a trilogy no less). Sounds good to me, I can’t wait to find out where it goes from here.
