The Lord of the Plains

It's not often you can find such a good book from an unknown author. This is a coming of age story set in a fantasy world where the main character has to find incredible resources from within to overcome the challenges that face her, and she does it in such and endearing way that its easy to love her.
The Broken Kingdom

I just finished the first book and had to get the second book straight away. Our main character has a novel approach to solving her problems, I enjoyed it greatly.
The Magekiller

This is my third book from this author, although this one was published first. I like her sense of humour that is interwoven with great sadness and challenges that our characters have to face. It's pace is good, no skipping of pages!
Shadow Magic

In this book I identified most with Julietta, I almost felt like she was the main character. My only disappointment is that she was still in the process of discovering her personal power at the end of the book, even after everything she did. Otherwise I enjoyed the book and wasn’t sure how it would end.
There are quite a few strong characters in the book, eccentric some of them. Some quite poignant moments, like when the special mushroom interviewed who would use its body after it dies, the young people losing their lives to Shadow Magic, the struggle of Emerre to stay alive anchored by her true love Cadel and others, and poor old Bo, one of my favourites suffering prejudice for being in the wrong country when war breaks out. Will recommend to friends.
