Jim Burkett

Biography

My true vocation is that of a Sr. Systems Analyst for a large company in the United States. During my off hours, I spend them writing as much as possible, along with providing services as the staff photographer and volunteer for multiple charity organizations in the Tampa Bay area, including the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

As a photographer and author, I have had the priviliage of being invited to capture the Canadian Olympic team during their team trials prior to Beijing. I also photographed the boat 'Earthrace' during it's world attempt to break the record circumnavigating the globe. This boat was later refitted and renamed 'Aby Gil'. This boat was eventually sunk by a Japanese whaling ship during it's use in the the filming of the series 'Whale Wars'. Many of my photographs and articles have appeared in hundreds of magazines, newspapers and books around the world.

With regards to my additional writing experience, I wrote a monthly column for the publication 'SouthWinds' which is a sailing magazine. Those stories have also appeared in many different publications.

I have been married to my wife Cathy for over 30 years and have two sons and one golden retriever named Maggie.

I am currently working on the sequel to 'Declaration of Surrender' and 'American Sanction', titled 'Reprisal' which will be available in October 2012. In addition to these books, I have also published a children's series titled 'Read With Me Pops', geared toward ages 1-5.

In 1945, the U.S. Congress created a document protecting its own interest against Germany or Japan, leaving its citizens to fend for themselves. The document is lost for 65 years until now when its location is believed found. As the document will give sole ownership of all US properties to whomever finds it, it is a race for DHS to retrieve it first before a foreign country reigns over the US.
