JoAnne Helfert Sullam

Biography

A native New Yorker JoAnne Sullam is a wildlife artist who is using her art and writing for Conservation focusing on the human/animal art connection and has lectures on the topic.
JoAnne is active in a number of animal education-related organizations.
A certified Animal Rehabilitator and the author of Little Puppy & the Mystery in the Hallway.
Ms. Sullam also works in the television and movie industry, with people such as Academy award-winning actress Melissa Leo, Martha Stewart, Marc Morrone’s Pet Keeping Show”, and Jim Fowler (“Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom”), and has interviewed personalities like Richard Gere, Bobby Kennedy Jr. and concert pianist/animal activist, Helene Grimaud.
JoAnne Sullam is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including a Special Congressional Recognition for Work in the Arts by former Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton; Sullam has produced a local cable show and published articles on Art and Conservation.
JoAnne work is in the collection of the Audubon Center in Oyster Bay, New York for her study of migratory birds in paintings and photographs and has been used for education, and were featured in the New York Times.
She resides in upstate New York.
