The Great Province is a medieval world where one’s duty is determined by caste and all aspects of life are deeply rooted in ritual. Zul is the Great Spirit served by the villagers while a nearly mythical dragon is believed to represent all that is evil. Tradition remains unchecked until the dark spirit reveals itself to a boy, born into the religious caste, setting in motion an inevitable collision between ritual and a very real dragon. The Forbidden Scrolls are being written during this series by a Warrior who is watching all the events unfold. The scrolls reveal the secrets of the spirit world that are forbidden to discuss in the Great Province. These secrets pose great danger to everyone living in the Great Province and must be revealed.
