Biography
John H. Roy born to John H. Roy, Sr. and Marilyn Carmen in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.He currently resides in Brooksville, Florida where he is married to his lovely wife Janice Roy. They have two daughters, Daisha and Jessica and several grandchildren. John Roy is a Licensed Minister, Motivational Speaker, Author, and Certified Addiction Counselor, Dream Coach and anointed warrior against the satanic spirits of drugs and alcohol.
John’s experience and horrors of addiction were hands on and first hand. He lives the new kingdom freedom of his deliverance from addiction. His is the author of ”5 Steps to Breaking the Addictions Of Your Life!!” it is a’ thought-provoking account of his experience of addiction and how it played a pivotal role in the grace of God. John exemplifies the discipline God has-designed and structured for a breaking through your obedience. His hopes are that you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to develop 5 Steps to Breaking the Addiction in Your Life.
This ground breaking book but not message has been shared many times. We Believe God can take a mess and create a message and get glory in your life. John shares experiences of life spiraling downward into the dark abyss of drug addiction. He expresses the amazing grace of how God triumphantly and lovingly restored him through the many struggles and afflictions by means of his family, pastor and friends ministering as he allowed God to redirect him out of the darkness and into the light. At age 14, John had already begun early drinking and the smoking of marijuana. After high school, he was discharged from the Air Force (dishonorably discharged) due to his anger problems and the discovery of the stash of marijuana.Upon being discharged from the Air Force, John relocated to New Jersey living with his mother and sister. The story, because he had to have a story for his Mom, who had a zero-tolerance for foolishness, so it was “I’m on vacation”. Didn’t take long before John's mom realized and discovered he had been lying and was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force and drugs were part of the reason. After she realized what had actually taken place,
John had not been honest, she asked him to leave. John relocated to New Brunswick, New Jersey, the home of Johnson & Johnson's Headquarters and the beginning of a lustrous career with a major fast food restaurant.Along with this resettling he began selling drugs as well as using and transporting them back and forth from Jersey to Harlem. The entire hustle eventually reversed itself and he began to use more drugs than he sold, cooking, free-basing all just a disaster called insanity … awaiting deliverance.During this progression John met Janice and began to date. Janice, his “church -girl”soon became his wife and they were married and have two daughters. He was able to hide the addiction from her for a substantiated amount of time. But, eventually, his addiction began the spiraling process and everyone noticed the difference. His Addiction causing him to become so desperate during this separation that at times cigarette butts out of public receptacles were his main resort for which he could get a tool to get high him high off the drug purchased. I know it sounds crazy, but truth is the prayers of the righteous availeth much and he had a “But God” Invasion and turn around in his life, he would tell you.
John expresses how he pondered the direction for his life,crying out desperately to God. His sudden awareness of the darkness of his life began to set in quickly and he began to realize that he was totally wrecking the lives of others,his wife, his kids, family, friends and himself. But at this point, realizing his life being unmanageable and he realized he had no power. Realizing desperately the need for God to help him make the necessary steps and decisions to change in his life, he knew… It had to be God for his life and family and awareness that it couldn’t be both and cried out to the Lord."God helped him to change his thinking and his image about myself," Roy said.
