Have just finished Indecent Ambition. It is original, suspenseful, and the main character, Anthea is strong and empowered. She is taken in by her Irish landlady, Nan, who provides for her in every way. When Anthea discovers the source of this income: her beloved Nan runs brothels in Sydney’s Surrey Hills, her eyes are opened as she realizes what some women need do to survive. This story has glamour, international backgrounds, power and wealth – a page turner.
  • Whisper Her Name on Sep. 06, 2011

What an engaging story – it was like watching a movie. The main character, Noella, starts off a shallow, self-absorbed, spoiled brat who is only interested in escaping her powerful father’s control. Noella doesn’t realize how she is being exploited and what this will mean to the family name. But via a terrible tragedy she is transformed into a woman who is determined to claim her heritage. This story is full of well rounded characters and the pace is fast. A recommended read.

Make sure you have time to spare before reading this book, because once you start you won't be able to stop. This was a really great mystery/suspense. I prefer books with strong female leads, and this was a fascinating read. Highly recommended.
