What's the story behind your latest book?
This book represents an extraordinary journey for me, one that extends over a period of 25 years. After observing several economic boom and bust cycles and researching several more, I have reached an understanding and appreciation of the power and massive influence of these events. Even though each boom and bust cycle is fundamentally different, there are similar themes, factors and cyclical patterns that repeat themselves throughout the bull and bear markets. As one period ends, another slowly begins the transition period towards the next cycle in a never-ending economic drama of human, technological, financial and natural resources developments. The central core of these cycles is the hopes, greed, desires, fears, and dreams of societies and their governments.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
From the very start of my writing career, I was an Indie author. I never really tried to submit manuscripts to any major publishing house. And I began this journey back in the late 1980s when we the struggle to be an independent author or publisher was a lot more intense. I'm absolutely amazed at the distribution, marketing and publishing opportunities that are available today. The field is certainly a lot more crowded, however it is also a lot more exciting with so many great opportunities.
