Katie Faun likes her books like she likes her porn: not set in reality and full of all sorts of monsters, creatures, and beasts. What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Having characters live through me. Even though I outline before I begin writing so I know the direction of the story, the characters never cease to amaze me. They know what is best for the story, and if I am directing them to act in a way they don't feel is appropriate, they take charge and put the story onto a new path. I am grateful for this, though, because I know if the characters surprise me, they will surprise the reader.
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans would be the lifeblood of my career. Although I write because it is what I love to do, knowing that there are people who enjoy my work keeps me dedicated when I am having a sluggish day. There is no better feeling than putting words down on a page and knowing that they are being eagerly awaited, and so I thank you all for that. <3
