Kay C. Burns

Biography

A nurse and native of Dixon, Illinois Cindy Sieberns Martinez writes as Kay C. Burns. Her most recent title, RIVER STALK unfolds in San Antonio, Texas.

In this story a freak accident maims a prominent San Antonio doll collector during a popular river parade. The victim whispers, “Papa promised me” over and over to nurse Quinn Cole, who’s assisting with the woman’s rescue.

The words come to baffle and haunt Cole who’s gearing up for the annual Fiesta competition with her brash roller derby sister--this year for the affections of a hot Private Investigator.

Cindy’s first novel, a dark tale, MOMMY'S MISSING, is based on a true crime in December 1946. It’s post-World War II, when a passionate and driven female reporter finds she’s at the scene of a grisly rape and murder, which sends her into an emotional tailspin. She recalls her similar attack on VJ day over a year ago where she was left for dead and crippled with panic attacks.
