A native of Rochester, NY, L.L. Bartlett honed her characterization and plotting skills as a frequent writer for romance magazines and was a finalist in the St. Martin’s/Malice Domestic contest.
Murder on the Mind, Bartlett's first published novel (Five Star/Cengage 2005) received 4 stars from Romantic Times. They said: "This is a high-powered drama filled with interesting characters that add dimension to a tightly paced story with a good kick at the end."
Other books in the series are: Dead In Red and Cheated by Death. A fourth book is in the works. Two short stories in this series are also available: Bah! Humbug and Cold Case.
In addition to the Jeff Resnick Mysteries, Bartlett also writes the New York Times Bestselling Booktown Mystery series under the name of Lorna Barrett. Bookplate Special, the third book in the series, was nominated for an Agatha Award for best novel of 2009.
Bartlett’s Victoria Square "cozy" mystery series will debut in February of 2011.
