L. V. Pires (pronounced Pier-ez) is a children’s and young adult writer with a strange obsession with all things mysterious and mystical. She grew up just outside of Detroit, Michigan, where she spent most of her childhood acting out strange fantasies that sent her parents into a whirly wind of confusion and worry. She studied English at University of Maryland, College Park, and is currently working toward her MFA in creative writing at Spalding University where her wacky imagination is much appreciated. She is married. Has three dogs. Two children. A garden full of thorny raspberry bushes and enjoys hanging tiny crystal balls from every window to heighten her transcendental thoughts. She is a member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators), AWP and MWA and was awarded an Eileen Spinelli Scholarship in 2011. She thanks you for reading her bio.
