The jewel you see glowing in the ring in my author photo isn't really a jewel at all. It is the crystallized tear of a real dragon. In my novel "The Royal Dragoneers" you might find the moment where this wonderfully magical tear drop fell from a green dragon's eye. It hardened on its way down to land in a mess of troll corpses that the dragon was laying on.

My grandfather died before I was born, but the ring was given to me by my mother after my grandmother recently died. My grandfather had apparently won the ring in a poker game near the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma sometime in the early 1900's.

It has been a boon to me, the magic of the teardrop, for it brought you here didn't it? Now treat yourself to something fantastic and try out the free sample of one of my novels. I hope you enjoy the journey. It will be spectacular. Thanks M.R. Mathias

  • A Dwarf With No Name on Jan. 06, 2011

This is a well written fantasy tale that, while billed as a short story, is easily long enough to be considered a novella. I found it engaging. I was taken back to the days when my friends and I would reserve the local library's conference room and play AD&D every weekend. Unlike most game based stories Prior brought his characters to life and filled them with believable quirks and well... Character. My only issue with "The Ant-man" was that the forays into the other places and characters in Prior's world were a bit lengthy and distracting from the immediate tale. I wish I had read more about Otto Blighty and others before reading this. I will definitely be reading his other works now. All in all I feel this is a masterful peek into Prior's style and the world he has created. I recommend it to all fans of fantasy fiction.
  • Erich's Plea: Book One of the Witchcraft Wars on Feb. 24, 2011

The story was a pleasant suprise, as I expected more of a "Kids" fantasy. This should be enjoyable for fantasy fans of all ages. I'm hoping that Ms. Alley sends me the second book in the series to review, otherwise I will just have to purchase it, because I want to know where she takes these characters. The illustrations were pretty cool too. I read this book in 2010. This review is the same as the one I posted on amazin then.
  • Ursula's Quest: Book Two of the Witchcraft Wars on Feb. 24, 2011

I loved this book. I love this series. I can't wait for Slade's Destiny! This review is transfered from Amazon.
  • Demon Stone: A Dagr Brightsword Tale on Aug. 22, 2013

Dagr must go on a quest to save his wife and unborn child in this solid, well told short story. 5 stars.
