Marta Stephens has lived in the Midwest since the age of four. She’s married and the couple has a daughter and son both in college. During the day she’s an HR programs coordination at a state university, but at night and on weekends, she writes crime.

Stephens has been writing since 2003 and launched the first novel in my Sam Harper Crime Mystery series, “Silenced Cry” in 2007. The second book in the series, “The Devil Can Wait” was released in 2008.

A few of the recognitions her works have received include, honorable mention at the 2008 New York Book Festival for “Silenced Cry”. “The Devil Can Wait”, was selected as one of the bronze medal winners of the 2009 Independent Publishers Book Award (IPPY) in the mystery/suspense/thriller category. Both books ranked in the top ten in the Preditors & Editors Reader Poll.
