  • Free To Fly on Dec. 30, 2011

It was an interesting story. It's a pity it was so short. I felt the characters could have benefited from a more extensive description as well as their story and the development of their relationship. Their timid introduction into D/S territory was sweet. There was no perfect timing and role-playing after a preestablished script, there were odd moments when they had to step out of character and both were unsure on how to tread forward. I needed a bit more information to be sure this was something Vincent also wanted. But it definitely seemed to be just the right thing to strengthen their relationship and keep them together.
  • Hidden Talents on Nov. 21, 2012

I'd gladly give this 5 stars if it weren't for the length. The story left me with more questions than the answers it provided. And it was frustrating to stop just when things were getting more interesting. I could not fully understand their abilities. Each character had a brief moment in the spotlight. Definitely not enough to completely portray them but enough to pique my interest. Enough to make me care for each.
  • Minus Tide on Nov. 21, 2012

It was an interesting sequel to the list of characters that "Hidden Talents" introduced. Each character seems independent and solitary in their actions, but somehow, everything is threaded together. And even though there is no immediate danger, you read every page with a sense of foreboding. 4.5 stars and off to read the third installment.
  • Look Sharp on Nov. 22, 2012

Oh, I want to throw a tantrum of my own!!! This can't be over. I must know more! There are so many facets to each character and such development between them and the story itself, you could hardly believe it possible in such a short story. And yet, each and everyone is individually represented, a clear presence in the story but with a myriad of connections to everyone else. Their reasons and justifications still partly unknown, leaving the reader to decipher the code and understand them. Amazing writing and fantastic story! Looking forward to the next installment.
  • Forgotten Soul (Book 1 of the Soul Reader Series) on Nov. 22, 2012

This was a quick little story with interesting development. I had envisioned the two of them on the run, trying to understand the new situation they were in, explore new possibilities as well as confront the deepening feelings between them. So, all in all, 3.5 star rating for originality and good characters but not enough adrenaline to make me readily move on to the sequel.
  • Tinsel is like Bondage for Trees on Dec. 15, 2012

It was such a funny short story! Logan drags Harry to Conneticut to spend Christmas with his family. While both expect to play the role of eomployer and employee, Harry soon discovers that the whole family knows Logan is gay and is merely humoring his whims. And this makes for embarrassing, awkward but also amusing situations between Harry and various members of the family. Coupled with Logan's attempts to look after Harry's Christmas tree, it all shines with Christmas feel and happiness. Isa has a magical way with words and Harry is still a favourite character. Though short, the story is wonderful and quite in-sync with the winter holidays. Though you'd probably need to read The Condor to fully appreciate it.
  • There's Cock In This Book (The Hockey Story) on Dec. 15, 2012

A lovely short story about a gay young man who purposefully hides his sexual preference as it would only hinder his interaction with the hokey team and his chances for a better team. Mac was lovely as a blushing virgin and his responses were charming. While Fritzy revealed the pleasures of gay sex, it was both amusing and adorable to watch Mac try to hide his inexperience and still enjoy the encounter. I think it would have helped to know a bit more about Mac as well, not just Fritz. Other than his decision to not come out to his teammates and view them as nothing more than that, we really don't know Mac's history. I'm hoping that might be elaborated in the sequel. It was a delectable short introduction for Mac and Fritz. I'm hoping they'll get they HEA in How To Quit Playing Hockey.
  • There Are Gay People Everywhere on Dec. 15, 2012

This was a very delightful story. Too bad it ended so soon. There was an original twist to the story, of having Dillon project his sexuality onto all the other gymnasts. And so ignorant about the truth. He deserved to be shaken up back to reality. And the rough handling Max gave him was quite arousing and intense. The ending was equally surprising, with Max defending Dillon and admitting to maybe sharing the same closet. I'm curious how Isa would continue this and if there ever will be a sequel.
  • Dirty Zero on Dec. 28, 2012

Wyatt was cute, in a geeky way, obsessed with comic books and dreaming of the hot stud colleague to notice him. Which he did. The party he was invited at Brian's house turned out to be a fantasy come true. There wasn't a lot of complexity to the plot or the characters but I was left with a nice feeling. So yeah, 3 stars.
  • Dirty Hero on Dec. 28, 2012

Cute little sequel to Wyatt and Brian's adventures. It was hot reading about the two of them working through Wyatt's list of fantasies but also sweet to see them developing their relationship and even moving in together. Wonder if there will be more about them?
  • When Angels Fall on Dec. 29, 2012

Kip was a sweet young boy, brave, funny and charming on first meeting Crash. Then an emotional teenager exploring his sexuality and discovering that his most secret fantasy came true despite his fears of it ruining his friendship. And finally, the last part of their journey, trusting and loving Crash. It was so beautifully written. I only now understand the significance of Crash's real name. And it matches his existence so perfectly and his feelings for Kip. Very touching story!
  • Dirty Play on Dec. 29, 2012

Whit was funny in his geekiness. In fact both characters were a bit clumsy at seducing the other and their interactions didn't always play out as they imagined it. But it was sweet watching them blunder through first date and realise they liked each other and wanted to form a couple. 3.5 stars from me.
  • Not His Kiss to Take on Dec. 30, 2012

In terms of dirty talk and hot scenes, this is hands down 5 star rated. In terms of story and character development I found it a bit lacking, so it gets 3 stars. It was hard actually believing that Jamie was so clueless about gay sex. He easily changed his mind to liking and wanting intimate touches with Evan despite considering them disgusting at first. The only real bother was just this: his easy acceptance of a new lifestyle while pretending to be innocent and unaware. And it was a bit odd that Evan's terrible headaches disappeared completely once Jamie was in the picture and while being a doctor he condoned the assault on Jamie's rapists. There is a slight angsty moment when Evan tries to separate himself from Jamie, thinking he's doing the right thing. Other than that, the story mainly focuses on the sexual exploits of the characters. And boy, were they hot!! Some of them were somewhat squeamish to me but the dirty talk, the slow way in which each game was played out, the erotic way Jamie responded to it... sizzling! Evan and Jamie work well together, as a couple, as a mentor and pupil and as balms to soothe each other and try again at life. Just keep a fan nearby as they heat things up quickly.
  • Dirty Drag on March 18, 2013

The interaction between him and Rick was funny and arousing. You just had to laugh when seeing Rick try his best at being a gentleman, make it more than a one night stand and Ashley just ploughed through and did his best to dirty talk Rick into getting a blowjob. I would have liked the revelation scene slightly different. It was jammed in between other comments and felt slightly anti-climatic. But it worked as a short story and Rick and Ashley seem made for each other.
  • Dirty Drag 2: The Night Drags On on March 18, 2013

I laughed out loud at the ending scene with the boob being held for ransom. Overall, however, I wasn't quite into it as the first installment. It was cute and sexually interesting and diversified - using feet and ass cheeks to get off - but I wasn't that drawn into the story as before. Ashley appeared a bit whiny and Rick suddenly in a hurry to leave and have a happy get together with the family, though he seemed interested enough in Ashley back at the bar. And thaat last bit with Jared and his one night stand felt totally out of place as well as TMI. Definitely did not find it sexy in reading about come in the ear. Eww.
  • Out of the Tombs, Exceedingly Fierce on March 18, 2013

It's not a bad story. The plot was interesting and nicely set in Ireland. The characters were real (though Cormac could have been fleshed out a bit more). But I couldn't connect with them and it left no lasting impression on me. Thus the 2 star rating.
  • Dirty Fighters on March 18, 2013

This was short and dirty. And I liked it. I found Cross' charade funny (rather than annoying, as I usually do) and I was looking forward to seeing how Kyle would play out the scene. The jock strap was a nice addition and it definitely made things more hot for me. I'm waiting however, for a longer story where the characters can develop and the storyline gets more complex.
  • Dirty Boys on June 08, 2013

Very cute and adorable! It was endearing how both characters were too shy to approach the other. You have to suspend reality a tiny bit to read this but it was cute. I'm happy with the ending.
  • Dirty Cop on June 08, 2013

Very adorable short story! Conrad and Brayden make a great couple! The whole role playing act of fleeing after being pulled over was great. Conrad was funny as hell, trying to bribe the dog, leaving the closet door open for the dog to chew on whatever and playing rock, paper, scissors. Liked him from the start. And the whole sex against the wall scene was really hot. I was a little put off when I saw Conrad just get it on with a stranger (and no condom) but then it dawned on me, the stranger was in fact his boyfriend. The ending scene really made it obvious how in love they were with each other and how committed they are. Really cute reading!
  • Nor Iron Bars a Cage on Oct. 01, 2013

I was totally captivated by Lyon, by Tobin, by the story itself. I thought the characters were believable and took a liking to them almost immediately. And the plot... it just kept me hooked right till the end. And when I reached the final page, I wished there was a sequel. I was really in-sync with this story and sailed through the pages. If there was any discontent, it was too tiny to matter and easily forgotten. Quite a treat to offer for free! Thank you!
  • Like the Taste of Summer on Oct. 01, 2013

That was perhaps one of the best short stories I've read in the "Don't Read in the Closet" series. It took only the first few paragraphs and I was already curious about the characters, wondering what would happen next, what their story would be, how they would turn out. It was an amazing journey. An example of love, friendship and committing to someone. Simply beautiful!
  • Unsettled Interlude - Hidden Wolves 1.15 on Oct. 01, 2013

Lovely sequel to Unacceptable Risk. Laughed out loud at some of Simon's jokes. Really like his take on things. And I'm glad that I got to read more about this pair.
  • Unwanted Appeal - Hidden Wolves 2.5 on Oct. 01, 2013

Well, this story had a punch to it. Very tightly wound and nicely done. I liked that Zach had a voice in this short story. Aaron came close to what I had envisioned him to be. Not as strong and pushy an Alpha as he could have been but better in his role. The addition of Cord to the pack, the spy debacle on top of internet security risk and disclosure threats made a packed reading. Quite enjoyed it! Hoping for a continuation of the series. 4.5 stars
