Awesome!! Where is the next one?? I love books that can really paint a picture in my head and that really works well in fantasy-based books. I also could really relate to the characters..they seemed so life-like.
The story overall was ok for an independent novel but not quite at the level of something I would pay for in a store.
I found some of the word choices used for descriptions did not fit with the sci-fi-fantasy dystopia genre. For instance, "the streets smelled like piss." I felt that that would more be for a book for urban fiction. I just feel words like that used in a sci-fi/fantasy book does not make me get lost in the story. This is the same for the dialogue. I did not care for the slang that was used. Again, I just felt it did not fit with the genre of the book. The personalities of the characters are a bit flat and took a bit too long for me to get a sense of who they are.
These are just my opinions and does NOT necessarily mean this is a bad book.
This is terrible. I could not read more than two pages. The grammar is terrible and the punctuation is just as bad. Also, I am curious as to why several of the people who gave five star reviews reviewed this work more than once?
The story is boring and predictable. There's too many cliches. The writing is amateur. I always try to give independent works a chance. Sometimes you find a jem but this is no jem.
This is just my honest opinion. If you like a cliche predictable story, then you will like this book.
I read the first one and I thought it was okay. I decided to read the second one and it answered a lot of questions that I had, which is great. A lot of indie series seem to forget that sort of thing.
All in all it was enjoyable and well put together, so I'd recommend it if you like the hard core classic fantasy elements.
