Although I’ve always wanted to be a writer and have written several short stories, Faded Love is my first published work of fiction and I found the process amazing. Although I didn't have a lot of time to write (that's a lousy excuse but it's my excuse), I've always kept journals and had ideas floating around in my head for stories I wanted to write.

I was retired almost a year before I wound down enough to start writing. I sat down at my laptop one day and I couldn’t stop typing until I had written close to 7,000 words. But I must confess I didn’t write "Faded Love", the story wrote itself. I just typed the words.

Dinner was late for a couple of days.

Now that I'm retired and living comfortably in Nampa, Idaho, I have no excuse to put off my lifelong ambition of writing, Those ideas floating around in my head are finally coming to fruition and, along with finally being with the love of my life, make this the happiest time of my life. Like my mother said, "It's about time!"
