Sheldon Graham

Biography

Hi, my name is Sheldon Graham, I was born and raised in the western regions of Australia and is still my home today. As I hope to share some of my works with you, I would also like to share my journey with you as an inspiring author. Ever since I was a child I have yearned to become an author. This idea or future goal as I knew it was inspired by my best friend and Grandmother. However for many years I attempted to write novels only to come to the realization that it wasn't for me. It wasn't because I was bad at English per-say or never had any good ideas, I believe the reason was simply that I was being led toward something else. Then one fateful evening I'n March of 2006 I found out that the something else was poetry. If almost by accident it seemed, I remember I was sitting at my computer desk, it had passed lunch and I was trying to piece together a fantasy story that was inevitably destined for the desktop rubbish bin. Now I had been working on the piece of writing for about a week, but I became that frustrated with it's uneasy flow and long drawn out paragraphs that I hit the delete button, and it kinda felt good I'n a way. I sat there a moment staring at the now empty rubbish bin I'n the realization that there was no return, no retrieving what I had discarded without a second thought. The moment passed, then suddenly an inclination, an idea, a moment of brilliance, I began to type as fast as I could to keep up with my thoughts. It had easy flow, a natural beat, no long drawn out sentences and mile long description to paint a mind scene. I was I'n my glory and no more than an hour later my first poem was born. I am joining Smash Words to publish and to share what I have created with the rest of the world. Enjoy :)
