  • More Fun with Dick and Shane on July 05, 2010

I bought the first book in this series elsewhere and loved it, so was very pleased to be able to pick up this follow on at a discount here on smashwords. I read a lot of gay erotica and have to say this is in a class of its own, its so much more than your average bdsm, sm titillation work. Its funny, witty and often quite touching, as well as downright dirty at times. The houseboy and his Daddies do it for me, I read it in one sitting, an afternoon well spent.
  • Winter Pink Skies on July 06, 2010

The setting for the story is a hot July day and it made for very enjoyable reading on a hot July day. If you like fic with a domestic discipline theme that comprises more than just a string of loosely connected spanking scenes then this might be a book youll enjoy. Thoughtful and nicely written. Recommended summer reading.

A beautiful and highly emotive book, I was drawn in from the very first page. I read this as a free read during the smashword promotion, but I think I'll seek out a 'real' print to put on my bookshelf.

A pleasant read for a rainy day. The erotic element was subtle, the story is much more about showing an emotional relationship than a sexual one and I found that refreshing in a book dealing with a version of power exchange. The characters are engaging and the writer also managed to convey some strong visual imagery. If you like your M/M fic to be all about graphic sex then this won’t be for you, but if you fancy something more emotionally engaging, which gives an interesting alternative view of a dom-sub dynamic then this might be the biscuit to accompany your tea.

Sci-fi is something I prefer to view via the medium of film rather than read about, but this was a well written story and I enjoyed it.
  • The Name on My Wrist on July 26, 2010

This is sad, tender and sweet, but I couldn't help but feel that it's a prelude to a story rather than a story in itself. The reader is given a mere glimpse into James's life and then shut out. There's potential for much more here. I think the real story would be James moving on from his loss and learning to live again.

I thought this was more a snippet than a short story as such and while very competently written, for me it didn’t lift from the page at all.
  • The Corridor and Other Stories on Aug. 05, 2010

My favourite story in the set was‘The Corridor.’ I thought it was an intriguing piece of writing with some potent imagery. Gary recognises that his partner Mark occasionally needs physical pain in order to help break a negative thought pattern and reattach himself to reality. The endorphins released in the throes of a harsh caning help to clear his mind and re-ground him. There’s also a clever little appendage story that gives the reader another view of Mark’s bipolar personality.

Thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining short story. It's nicely written, nicely humorous and sweetly romantic. Well done.
  • Rough Road to Happiness (A Gay Erotica Romance) on Sep. 14, 2010

Writing of this quality should not be given away for free. It deserves the respect of payment. Beautifully written, highly erotic, I thank the authors for the privilege of reading it.

Anyone looking for cheap thrills via gay sex stories will be disappointed by this collection, but that is not to say the book is disappointing. It's a slight aside from this author's usual style, though some of the stories do carry hints and referennces to the power exchange dynamic that characterises her writing. This is a set of love stories exemplified in the beautiful and moving tale of The Jade Talisman. A well written and often touching set of stories that show how beautiful love between men can be.

This is a short read, but is beautifully crafted. It's a blend of humour, romance and almost lyrical prose. Well worth downloading and reading.
  • The Jack and Danny Chronicles on April 19, 2011

Off the wall, completely off the wall, I liked it. What I admire about this writer is that she isn't afraid to take chances with language, character, dialogue, she has an unusual and distinctive style which stands apart from the crowd. The Danny and Jack story won't be to everyone's taste, because it is an unconventional read on several levels, but if you're looking for something different and fun, give it a go!
  • The Relationship on May 29, 2012

I think this story has potential, but it isn't realised here. It reads more like a synopsis rather than a finished piece. It's much too rushed, scene changes and time shifts are too rapid and confusing and not detailed enough. I'm not sure what the author's objective is with regard to the mother and protagonist daughter. Is it to bring readers on the side of the alcoholic mother or sympathise with the daughter? Alcoholism is a terrible disease and its repercussions are dreadful, not only for those who suffer from it, but also those who are close to them. This story makes no real effort to bring readers to an understanding of a complex illness or to an understanding of why the mother suffers from it. There’s a hint that she has had bad experiences, but no details are given, the daughter dismisses them as unimportant. I’m afraid I couldn’t empathise with the daughter at all. She comes across as cold and cruel, a selfish and rather violent bully. She has no pity or mercy for her mother at all. I ended up actively disliking her. I felt sorry for the mother and was much more interested in her untold story. This could be a potentially moving story about loss of trust and love between a mother and daughter and the breakdown of family relationships, but it ends up as no more than a vindictive and often garbled diatribe by the daughter. The story is described as a young girl’s journey through life, but there is no journey here, you can’t navigate a life in less than eight pages. I would advise the author to go over it again, to think about the scenes and the characters and the message and flesh out the whole thing. This story is the seed for a better one, grow it.
