Larry Nivenesque - which is a good thing.
The writing is clear and economical, the story-line uncluttered, which is necessary in so short a story, but with enough hints as back story to be engaging.
I'd like to learn more about Rob Stabler (punning surname notwithstanding), the interplanetary milieu he's part of and, of course, his new-found friend.
Oh - I realise I haven't said that I enjoyed reading the story - I did!
BTW: Small typo on page 2 (HTML version, default settings)"2208 Phobos" is given as "2008 Phobos".
