For my first book on smashwords this was pretty good. What attracted me to the book was the cover. It is quite beautiful.
I saw two spelling errors so if you a grammar freak that might annoy you. However, I didn't find it distracted from the story.
The story itself was was short but quite wonderful. It was sweet and jammed packed full of emotion for such a short story. Caroline isn't a likable character after the first letter. To be honest for a second it made me want to quit reading. She seemed selfish and slightly cruel. It left me wondering if she was going to do something horrible to her baby.
But after the third letter Caroline, becomes a sympathetic character. You start to pity the girl who tired so hard but could never quite make it right. Who keeps wondering why life doesn't seem to like her. It was very relatable to how life sometimes life just doesn't go your way no matter how hard you try.
I liked the letter that talks about her childhood and what it was like for her growing up. I wish the author had expanded more on that and how it effected Caroline and all her choices.
All and all I liked this book and If it wasn't free I probably would have paid for it. No more than $ 2.00 dollars.
So if your looking for something short, but emotional, sweet and has a decent character development I would recommend giving this book a shot. I don't think you'll regret it.
