Owen Tobias is something of a scholar. Having devoted much of his adult life to teaching scholarly books while reading those that are often the object of scorn among his peers, he decided that it was time to try his hand at writing the kinds of books that he likes, as opposed to those that he ought to like.
Like many writers, he has tried his hand at a wide variety of professions. He has been a teacher, a researcher, a martial arts instructor, a woefully untalented actor, an entrepreneur, a software developer, and a life guard. Owen Tobias has an affinity for German Shepherds. At the moment he has two who keep him rather busy. He lives on the East Coast with his wife and daughters, in a rural part of the country.

Well done. I'm giving this four stars, but the one I'm holding back is largely for grammatical and stylistic problems. They do tend to take me out of the story. Otherwise, engaging.

I enjoy the storyline very much, but do find the writing a bit problematic. This book could have used the services of an editor to pick up on the (many) stylistic and grammatical errors. Some of the sentences are rather convoluted, and in a great many cases the author uses words incorrectly. Otherwise, this is an engaging, enjoyable read. I just wish it had undergone a good edit or two before being released.
