- The John Doe

Well written. One really felt for John, the prisoner. Many books just relate a series of events, but some writers give you the gift of becoming part of the story. This author is one of those writers.

It was good to see Valencio finally free, and I thought the very last bit so entirely suitable.
At the same time, it didn't have that quality that was so much in the first book - to grip the reader and keep him enthralled. So just 4 stars, not 5. A good book, but not like the first of the series.
- How I Seduced a Vampire

An easy conversational style, and a story that many people will want to read. However, there are too many typos, and the author needs a good proof-reader, and then to re-upload.
All the same, good little story.
- Wizards' Slave
on Oct. 13, 2011
This book was gripping, and yes, in parts it was very sexy.
There was something else. If there were no wizards and magic, it could be regarded as a work of pure literary fiction - a study of sexuality. Valencio was a captive and a slave, but in his later teenage years, there was his guilt and shame, multiplied when he could not help but enjoy the sex. His conflict, his despair, his fights, his hatred of the wizards and at the same time, something like a love for his last master. Something close to brilliant.

This is the story of progress, not just for Valencio, but for all the freed slaves. Bellamy is an intriguing character, and for me, it was a bonus discovering who and what the John Doe was.
And at the end, Valencio is lured to Hollywood. I look forward to Book 4.
- Hamelin's Child
on Oct. 29, 2011
This was one of the most gripping books I've ever read. I was with Michael all the way, desperately wanting him to somehow escape, even when it seemed that he was thoroughly caught. A shocking story, entirely feasible. Similar things happen to girls all the time - I've heard that most prostitutes are feeding their drug habit, and probably for many of them, the pimp is the supplier. But it seems so much more shocking when it's a youth.
Hamelin's Child is a tremendous story - 5 stars, and 6 if I could.
- A Time of Testing
on Oct. 29, 2011
Finished. This was a great series. I especially enjoyed the ending - that there were hints of a tragedy to come, the allegory of Vince's struggle with the stormy sea, for instance, but in the end it was not a tragedy.
I found the last chapter satisfying. Well written as always.
I recommend this whole series.

This has the most stirring and well written sex I've seen in a book for some time. The story was a lot more than well written sex, of course. Well written, but with some errors. The author needs to have someone look at it and correct those, 'incised' for instance, when a similar word was probably intended. (I've forgotten now what I thought it should have been) If it was not for that minor thing, then 5 stars. As it is, 4 stars.
- You Gotta Have Manners

I enjoyed this small novel. I liked the stories of the boys' mischief, especially the revenge on the ones who'd promised to adopt Sid and then didn't.
Well written, hardly any errors.
- To Love and To Protect

This book had somewhat of an awkward start, and there were some slow patches. And yet the story of Zhu's love for Shuki was fantastic. It kept me enthralled and I loved the ending.
