Ardell L. D. Taylor
Ardell L. D. Taylor is a native of Southern California. She grew up in a small town which was the model for the background of some of her stories. She raised six sons while moving from place to place as the wife of an immigration officer. Now widowed, she lives with her two cats in a ghost town in the mountains of Arizona where she devotes herself to writing, reading, and photographing the deer, javalina and other wildlife which frequently visit her yard.
Whistling Girl is an historical romance taking place in Southern California just as it was being discovered by easterners. Anita Aldon is the Spanish/English daughter of a ranchero displaced by the tide of newcomers. She loves the outdoors and dreads the inevitable move to the city, but a casual meeting with one of the newcomers is followed by a series of complications changing everything.
