Sarah O. Maddox

Biography

Sarah Maddox was born in Kentucky and reared in Mississippi as the daughter of a Southern Baptist pastor. She has lived most of her life in Tennessee as helpmate to Roland, mother to their two children, grandmother, Bible teacher, writer, and author. She has been actively involved in local and national ministries all through the years.

Her first book published in 1999 and co-authored with Patti Webb, A Mother's Garden of Prayer was written as a guide for mothers and grandmothers in praying for their children and grandchildren in accordance with God's Word. A Mother's Garden of Prayer Journal soon followed in 2000. Her second book, A Woman's Garden of Prayer, also co-authored with Mrs. Webb, was released in 2002. This gift book was written to encourage women to cultivate intimacy with God through prayer. A Woman's Garden of Prayer Journal accompanies this book. In October of 2004, Sarah's first independently authored title, Five Things I Did Right and Five Things I Did Wrong in Raising Our Children was published.

It has been Sarah's desire to inspire and motivate young women to be faithful to their Lord, their husbands, their children, and their churches. For many years her main emphasis was teaching and encouraging women to pray for their children. Underlying all of her messages has been her fervent belief that we should never give up on our children — never give up on God!

Sarah resides in Tennessee with her husband. near her daughter's family. Her life verse is Jeremiah 32:17: "Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you.”
