Diary of the Displaced - Book 1 - The Journal of James Halldon
on Nov. 04, 2011
While I am not one for gore and horror, this story grabbed my attention and held it to the end. I felt like I was living the story. Like the Twilight Zone, the twists and turns of this story had be on the edge of the bed. A warning, don't read before going to sleep. I dreamt of zombies all night.
NOT my normal read but I couldn't put it down. From the first page to the end I was sucked into the story. With the twists and turns of the plot I enjoyed turning the page. Will read further reads from Juba.
Small Magic: Collected Short Stories
on Nov. 12, 2011
Flash fiction and ultra-short stories are two themes I have not tried before. Since getting this collection in a giveaway, I am sure to read more stories of the same. I enjoyed the quick short stories and actually picked up a few pointers on "howtos." The first story,"How to burn a house" had me cracking up with laughter. Told tongue in cheek, I enjoyed the deadpan humor. Will be looking forward to more from this author.
How to Find God's Will
on May 08, 2013
First time writers can sometimes give a new perspective to an old subject, the Bible. I laughed with the author as I read his recollections of the flannel board to teach Sunday school. Friendly yet powerful. Will reread. Look forward to more from this author.
