Raymond D. Mason
Born in Arlington, CA in September of 1941. Family moved to the San Joaquin Valley in spring of 1943. Raised in the town of Lindsay, CA at the edge of the Sierra/Nevada Mountain Range. Raised around horses, Mason had a love for them and the tales of the Old West from early childhood.
Mason joined the US Air Force in 1962 and was stationed at Rhein/Main AB just out of Frankfurt, Germany for three years. During that time he met and married a German girl named Ruth Wesp. They moved to California in September of 1964.
While attending West Valley Jr. College in San Jose, CA, Mason took a Creative Writing Course out of necessity and found a love for writing.
Not having the time to spare writing he put it on hold until he retired in 2003. Having nothing but time on his hands he was able to pursue his passion. He published his first book in 2004. Since then Mason has penned 54 books; Westerns and Mysteries.
His writing style reminds many of his faithful readers of Louis L'Amour who was one of Mason's favorite Western authors.
Mason and his wife Jeana reside in Roseburg, OR near the Umpqua River. He loves to hear from people who have purchased his books and tries to personally respond to each e-mail.
