  Zimmermann is the Yoda master of poetry. After you read this short collection, be sure to pick up his From Where I Stand Collection. I collect poetry books and both of these are high on my list. I always recommend them.

  What I liked about this poetry collection is lot of the poems tell a story. They aren't all roses are red, violets are blue, but real life events that most of us have experienced. And Zimmerman doesn't hold back. His poems are gritty and dark, but often laced with an innocent beauty. A few of my favorite poems are Blue Suit, A Storm on Two Fronts, Will You Join Me?, and Grey and Tattered. This collection managed to make me feel every kind of emotion I could think of from happiness to sadness, anger, resentment, fear, you name it. And some of his poems hit such a familiar nerve, I felt like Zimmermann had cut the words right out of my heart. I highly recommend this collection.
