Ravi began his apprenticeship at the age of 13, worked his way to salesman, and is now a master fitter. He was born in Calcutta, India and currently lives in Thailand - the land of smiles - with his wife, Mads, and their two children, ages eight and fourteen. He travels to all major cities in the world several times during the year giving clients the opportunity to be personally fitted by him.

Ravistailor.com integrates very traditional old-world tailoring with modern delivery methods and is the brainchild of founder and CEO Ravi Daswani, whose family has been in the clothing business for three generations. His company started with two physical showrooms in Bangkok before expanding its sales platform by launching a fully functional e-commerce website. In 2000, the company was split into two divisions with one focused on local businessmen/women and tourists in Thailand via stores in the Sukhumvit and Pratunam areas and the other focused on the international market using a comprehensive online service designed by Ravi.

Taking advantage of developing technology, Ravi was one of the first advertisers to sign up with Google Adwords in 2002. The website has been continuously developed since its launch and is today in its sixth version, with a customer base that jumped from five thousand in 2002 to four-hundred thousand today.
