ALVARO EDUARDO, is a former tabloid reporter since his college days who has an ultimate dream to become a sensible filmmaker. His first written teleplay won an award in Philippine tv network ABS-CBN’s Scriptwriting Contest for Comedy in 1999. He also wrote teleplays for PCSO’s “Pangarap Kong Jackpot” aired in PTV4 & IBC13.
Eduardo, who has studied Drafting Technology & AB Political Science while working as a correspondent & editor of different newspapers in his hometown in Mindoro, has dedicated time on learning digital independent filmmaking through intensive research & filmmaking workshops. His first indie movie PIRATA, has won the BEST SHORT FILM in Action/Drama Category award in the Philippine Digital Music & Short Film Festival & Awards (PHILDIGIAWARDS) held at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, Philippines, March 12, 2009.
Eduardo, who believes sensible alternative filmmaking can help revive people's interest in Filipino movies, is currently working on for his full-length movie MANGYAN LAND.
