As a voracious reader, I have always had an interest in writing. I wrote my first erotica on a whim for a friend. After that I was hooked. I first wrote for the fun of it, posting my stories for free and writing when I had a chance. When my husband deployed I had a lot of free time on my hands and had just found out about self publishing. I decided to take a chance and see if I could make my writing into something more. Working from home is something that allows me to spend time with my family and still help support us.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I knew self published books existed, but it wasn't until I read the Smashwords guide books that I realized it was something I could do too. It helped answer so many questions I had. Following the guide I managed to publish my first book, and got a 5 star rating the first week. I would never have managed to get my story out to the world without Smashwords help.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Watching my characters come alive. Sometimes they develop in ways I never expected. Too many times I have sat, stunned and still typing, as the story played out before me. It was not what I intended to write when I started, but my characters followed their own paths to get what they wanted.
Really well written. The story wove together nicely, building intrigue and giving hints to other stories. The slow build of romance and Gab's refusal to be put off made me smile. I will most certainly be picking up the rest of this series.
