I enjoyed the voice of this story. It was full of vivid characters that were fun to either love or hate. Although I am not generally a fan of sci fi, this one kept my attention. I was sad when it was over because it certainly kept me engaged.

Excellent, consistant voice throughout looking forward to finding out if the detective and Mandy hook up! :-)

Samantha though flawed was very realistic because of her indecisiveness. I liked that it wasn't explicit like many novels are today. I really liked David. He was well described. Other than some confusion with words, and minor issues with grammar, your story was great. Keep writing. You'll get it refined how you want it.

I wish I had another three dollars right now! LOL... great story. I liked Dani even better than I did Kenna. I didn't think that was possible. I am so excited to read about paige.

Though Paige was an interesting character, I felt the same plot had been recycled with her. I think I was fine until we had yet another engagement. Also several grammatical errors. I still give this story 4 stars just for writing talent and sticking with Character's personalities. Many very well developed characters. I'm going to wait a week before reading the boys' just to ensure that it feels new again. :-) Thanks.

A thrilling story with well-rounded characters and a believable story line. I loved the twists and turns this story took and felt like I was on the farm with them. Sorry I had to Re-post my review because I meant 5 Stars, not four.

I really liked "Not what she seems" it was outstanding. Great twists and turns, and I definitely didn't figure it out ahead of time which is VERY UNUSUAL. :-)

Although I enjoyed this book, it was highly predictable.

I enjoyed most of this book. I was devouring it up and until the end. I found the lack of resolution in this book disturbing.

Initially when I started reading, I was thinking of Sarah, Plain and Tall. Though predictable, this book sticks really well to dialect and personalities of typical mountain people. I enjoyed it.
  • Stilettos & Scoundrels on Sep. 11, 2012

I thought this story was entertaining. I would have given it five stars except for the grammatical misteps. The tense changing from first person to third was quite distracting. I liked the premise of the story and really enjoyed the characters I found them well developed, and less "perfect" than most characters one finds in literature. Mainly Presley's predelection to purchase things she can't afford, and throw tantrums to get her way. I wouldn't buy the story in its current form mainly due to the grammatical issues. I would however buy a revised version of this book. Thank you for a good free read.

I enjoyed this book very much. As with all Alexa Grace stories, it was suspenseful, sweet and romantic.
  • Death Is in the Details on Oct. 12, 2012

I enjoyed the book, but found parts too slow. Until the end, there was very little action. It was more of a sleuthing novel. Taken in that tone, it was well-written with many different characters. I think the amount of characters made many of the principles underwhelming. When one of the key people shows up at the end, and you can't remember where you saw him the first time, it's frustrating. All in all though a good tale with a lovable main character. I think I'd read another of this books.
