Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in sub-tropical Brisbane, which is the Capital City of Queensland in Australia. I enjoyed a loving family life, the stability of which I think allowed my imagination to develop and grow. Even as a little girl I was lost in my own imagined worlds, or in the worlds of favourite authors. If I wasn't playing in the creek at the bottom of our yard, I was climbing trees, or lying in the grass watching ants and insects; on inclement days, or in the evenings my nose was always buried in a book, or I was writing my own stories.
When did you first start writing?
It would have been when I was very young. My first memory of writing something in book format, was a childish anthology of poems - I think I may have been six or seven years old at the time.
