Biography

Author Ruth Remington is also an abstract/surrealist visual artist. Ruth's paintings can be found at Jeanne Frost Studio (www.jeannefrost.com)

Writing has been in her bones since the childhood fun of writing stories and plays to be directed and performed for audiences ranging from family gatherings to small town events. Writing now has become a passion along with her visual art, applying words like colours, shaping stories and poems, like notes to music.

These bones, quiet no longer, are using words to create all sorts of forms and shapes in her writing. Her stories and novels are alive with the magic of humour, myth, mystery and drama.

Her contemporary art work reflects her fascination with colour and abstract art. Originally from California, she lived in Australia from 2002 until 2014 as an adopted Aussie, based in Queensland, Australia. Now she continues her work in visual art at home again in California. Her unique technique, style and design in creating paintings, as well as indulging her passion for story telling, keeps her happily occupied.

With a background of formal education in fine art, art history, teaching metaphysics and psychology, Ruth brings skill and wisdom into her work.

  • Overcoming Trauma: Flowers in Winter on Jan. 24, 2013

Overcoming Trauma: Flowers in Winter by A.R. Dent is a book sensitively written and honest as the day is long. The author speaks to the critical responsibility we each have for our own destiny. He has taken the high road in life to never give up and never give in on the path to full recovery. He has accomplished his recovery doing it 'his way' so successfully as you will witness. Smiles and tears will reward you as you read his remarkable works of prose and poetry. Read and share with everyone you love and care about who has gone through major trials and/or trauma in life. An inspirational and heart warming book through and through. With the promise of many more works to come...! I loved it.
  • It's All About Trust on Feb. 12, 2013

Ocker Oscar intrigued me from the very start. How was he ever going to "fit in" to his new family with all his puppy mistakes and puppy attitude? I wondered, will he ever grow up? This story written from Oscar's point of view took me into realms I did not expect with amazing adventures involving - well you will soon find out! I won't spoil the surprise. It brought out the delight of the inner child in me. So fasten your seat belts and hold onto your hats! You are in for chuckles, dramas and all kinds of emotions. And to think this is just the beginning of a series of "Hollow Log" stories! Myth and Fantasy story telling at its best. The realm of Myth and Fantasy used by this author will greatly affect my own future writing as an author. So very effective in every way, captivating the imagination of the reader. Fun, imaginative, out of sight reading for any age. I can hardly wait to read the next one written by this author, A. R. Dent.
