Stephen Marley

Stephen Marley, the author of eight novels and a designer of video games, was born in Derby, England. He was expelled from one school and left another with virtually no qualifications, then worked as a construction site laborer, office worker, shop worker and other uninspiring jobs until he finally made it to university where he earned an MSc and almost finished a PhD in ancient Chinese science. He left his academic career to take up writing full time and now lives by a Derbyshire river a shot put throw from Augustus Pugin's first church and a javelin throw from the world's oldest factory. His novels and short stories cover the genres of thriller, science fiction, dark fantasy and historical fiction. He likes Buffy the Vampire Slayer and boxer dogs and describes himself as a Leonard Cohen Catholic.
