I had never heard of this author, but after reading some reviews, I decided to give this novel a try. I was surprised to find that it was not only a wonderful story, but turned out to contain a plethora of information about adolescent love and the need for honesty and empathy in intimate relationships. The vivid renderings of innocent and sometimes naive sexual exploration by kids during the ‘50s and ‘60s brought back lots of memories, some happy, some nostalgically wistful. Though probably more suited to Boomers, it could also serve as a source of important lessons for younger people, as they enter into the complex and scary world of relations with the opposite sex. I would highly recommend it for seniors, parents and young adults alike.
