As an elementary school teacher, I have met so many wonderful individuals from such diverse backgrounds. I loved to celebrate our differences as well as our sameness!
It was a great pleasure to see a child gain a new understanding of an unfamiliar subject. Seeing the world through a child's eyes is such a revelation!
Teaching was a way for me to invest in my future, as well as our society's. I like for others to "Think Outside the Box!"
Our military members and their families serve, sacrifice, endure and in turn, give us the freedom many may sometimes seem to take for granted.
The military too has given new understanding to unfamiliar subjects. Their lives are very different than most.
I hope those who serve know every day how much they matter and how they make a difference. They are educators as well and we could learn a lot from talking with them and sharing their stories.
Their dedication and selflessness are appreciated, even though at times it seems they're not. Thank you all for your sacrifices.
