Reads like a blend of the best pirate myths and wild west cowboy tales, shaken with a twist, the characters have the ability to fly like birds of prey travel around the world, competing to see who’s the top raptor. The author recounts his years as a member of a swashbuckling team of world class competition hang glider pilots, kindred spirits bonded by a passion of flight, adventure and a constant need to push everything to the edge and beyond-- in the air and on the ground. The adrenalin thrill ride takes the reader flying through cloud canyons above tropical rain forests, riding air currents to 22,700 feet over the Colorado Rockies, the terror of getting sucked into a thunderstorm, and heart wrenching accounts of trying to revive fellow pilots—sometimes successful, sometimes not—that have crashed, the stark reality of life on the edge.
