This is the funniest and well written book I've read since the Harry Potter series. It's witty and it doesn't take itself too seriously. I had to force myself to stop reading at 1 AM, because I was afraid of waking up my neighbors with my bursts of laughter. Read it at your own risk! I did my civic duty and warned you. One more thing... I loved The Lord of the Rings, but I never saw Tolkien as a favorite author. I loved Harry Potter but I can't say I would read Rowling's other works. Mekes is definitely something else. Better than the classics? No. Fresh and reinvigorating? Hell yeah.
