This series is probably one of the best series I've read in the past 3 years. Incredibly well-written, I could see and sense every gust of wind and every emotion. Written in Manga style, I felt right at home with all of the characters. (I love manga. =)) The themes of honor, duty, loyalty and respect run deep as in most Manga themes, but the characters are far from cardboard manga repeats. If you haven't read the entire series, the first book ends in a cliff-hanger so deep I about gave up on it. But trust me when I say... reading all three together is WELL WORTH THE TIME INVESTED. Oh my goodness, this was an incredible series. If you buy this book, buy the second one to go with it. The third book completes the story, but the first two (in my mind) make up one complete story with the third book wrapping up everything in an amazing apocalypse that leaves your wanting to turn the pages faster, but not miss a single word. To sum it up... seriously good. Amazing. Wow. Worth every penny.

Arus continues his plight of redemption and honor, tossed out into the stars from a society that doesn't believe or trust in machines. This series is probably one of the best series I've read in the past 3 years. Incredibly well-written. Written in Manga style, I felt right at home with all of the characters. (I love manga. =)) The themes of honor, duty, loyalty and respect run deep as in most Manga themes, but the characters are far from cardboard manga repeats. In this book, the theme of redemption is paramount as the war escalates between the three factions. Don't read this book until you've read book 1 in the series. The two go closely together, and should really be one very long novel. But as it stands, book 2 is incredibly intense. If you enjoy Star Wars or Lord of the Rings (and you have even a passing knowledge of manga themes), then you must own these three books. Seriously. They're that good. Full disclosure: No, Mr. Domenic did not solicit this review in any way. I'm posting this because I would love to see talent like this make it in this publishing world.

(I love manga. =)) The themes of honor, duty, loyalty and respect run deep as in most Manga themes, but the characters are far from cardboard manga repeats. If you're thinking of just buying the third book and skipping to the end, don't. Buy the first two. They are that good, you won't regret it. While the first book dealt with loyalty and honor, the second dealt with redemption. The third book has at it's forefront coming full circle in restoration. The whole series takes on deep topics like redemption, honor, loyalty, love and even the existence of God, but it never felt trite or canned. The third book completes the story of Arus, wrapping up this very engaging tale in an amazing apocalypse that leaves your wanting to turn the pages faster, but not miss a single word.
