After finishing Golden Blood, I immediately handed the kindle to my 12 yr old daughter and told her "Read this!" She texted me later that same day to tell me she LOVED it and absolutely had to have the next two books! We both devoured this book. The characters stole my heart and had me rooting for them from word one. I enjoyed the creative world Melissa Pearl has woven and look forward to reading the next book in the series! I was informed by the author this book was meant to be read fast. I didn’t understand the statement until I put it down and picked it back up a few weeks later, to read while enjoying a glass of wine. (allows the mind to relax and soak everything in without a need to consciously analyze) I quickly realized the brilliant dialog NEEDS to be read fast. If it’s read slowly with the intent to digest the meaning you will lose the well set amusement of the characters. And what characters! This sci-fi adventure is geared towards women - not to say men won’t enjoy it, but with the romance element they may find it not to their liking. I truly enjoyed the emotional world set up by the author. Love is a universal language spoken without restriction or judgment of others. The visuals created are sometimes wordy, but the pictures painted within the mind are vibrant, fun, and entertaining. Several times I laughed outright. ***Bonus treat*** I was what I thought to be halfway through the book when I realized there are TWO novels in this download! For the price of one, you get to continue the journey immediately.
