Biography

New Release! Book: It's Such a Big World and Then, It's Not.

Two guys can't stand each other, but are brought together over a duck named Mona Lisa. The setting is in Mulhouse, France a terminus with connections to Switzerland and Germany; read my book, take the journey, and fall in love!

A slow year with changes in my life, I haven't written much, but have the romance novel outlined. I'm back to it this Christmas with new stories and new comedy. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and your family.

Every child starts off as a story teller. My family lived in west Ft. Lauderdale, FL out near the everglades. I was a fort builder, horse rider, hiker, adventurer, Disney park nut, party-goer, bad at math in school kid, 80's child--David Bowie-Let's Dance, Prince-1999, Billy Idol-Rebel Yell, Neil Diamond-America, all the movies that made us human--Sixteen Candles, Uncle Buck (GIANT PANCAKES), Duckie from Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club geek, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science (mall scene), Stand by Me - Gordie Lachance (You have to ask?), Foot Loose (Yeah!), The Goonies (LOVE adventurers), and a closet case hanging with my gal pal at Backstreets and at Cathode Rays on the "other side of the tracks! in FTL"

After that, I followed my dad's footsteps and joined the Air Force. I did basic training in Texas and then traveled to California to Asia to South America to Europe, an island in the Pacific, and an island in the Mediterranean.

I've been fortunate to travel throughout Europe in the last five years. My friend in Poland does not get Polish jokes! My other friend lives in Colmar, France where the Alsatian wines are brewed.

Life has a swath of stories to tell! I love romance stories where, against the odds like the angry aunt who thinks your boyfriend soon to be husband should be thrown to the curb or the Roman soldier who battles barbarians for the love of his witch, the protagonist overcomes! Some stories don't always end with a happy ending, like China Town, but life is that way.

I am a member of Romance Writers of America, Goodreads Authors, and Amazon Authors.

Reviews are an authors resume, please help by leaving reviews for any book you read, thank you and best to you this coming year,

Yours truly,

Michael

Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The Giving Tree, Shel Silverstein, was the first story I read and I loved it. I believe there's been some debate over whether the relationship was a positive one and I feel that it was positive. In the story, the tree cared deeply about the boy and sought to offer what it could to aid him in life. Family, we all do what we can to help the people we love.
How do you approach cover design?
Cover design, Ebooklaunch did my first and my second book cover; I'm very happy with all of it. I went through a number of standard covers first and then got to a point of "what feels good." It took some time and a couple of demos, but I felt my heart in a good way when I saw the right cover. For each writer, you know what you like. I know what has appeal--colors, lettering, font, etc. But, there's the story behind the cover. Fire engine red and a hot looking guy on the front tells one thing vs. a lime green cover and a kid with snot all over his face tells us something else; I want something that catches a persons eye and gives them some idea of the story through the cover.
