This was an engaging, easy-to-read story. The simple but brutal challenges brought on by type 1 Diabetes and unexpected events are now much clearer for me. Overall, I most enjoyed a subtle moral in this story - that teamwork (between the mother and daughter) triumphed over disfunction (between the 'bad guys'). This book felt as if it was geared for young adults, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading material of that genre.
