D.F. Zorensky
Biography
D. F. Zorensky, author of Safe On Third, is an attorney and mediator, who now resides in Northern California after spending many years in Washington, D.C., where much of the historical research for this book was done at the Library of Congress. A graduate of Harvard Law School and Yale, Mr. Zorensky was at one time a government labor lawyer, as well as the chief counsel of a U.S. Senate subcommittee. Reaching the peak of his own political career, Mr. Zorensky once served as the mayor of Ross, California.
Safe On Third is Mr. Zorensky's first novel. An August 30, 2010 review by Kirkus Discoveries has described the book as a "meticulous historical novel," in which the physical, cultural and political world of 1940 is "painstakingly" recreated. The review notes that "Zorensky makes good use of historical cameos, too, peppering the text with visits from the likes of Charles Lindbergh, labor leader John L. Lewis and a few dozen professional baseball figures." The reviewer does express some reservations about Zorensky's adherence to history and his "passion" for historical details, but adds: "A fun, melodramatic and authentic spy thriller is contained in the text...."
