Sue Maynard

Biography

Sue Maynard was born and raised in the rural Canadian village of Creemore, ON (yes, like the beer), but currently hangs her hat in the much bigger metropolis of Mordor...er...Toronto. She is a proud Browncoat, a horror geek girl, and an overall sci fi nerd. In addition to writing, Sue loves animals (especially bears – they are her spirit animal), Coca Cola, movies, books, comicons, and webcasting via The Mind Reels.

The first edition of Carving the Light was Sue's first novel, originally written for the 2009 NaNoWriMo challenge. It not only marked both her first year as a NaNo participant, but also her first recorded 'win'. In addition, it holds the dubious distinction of being the first project of this magnitude that Sue has ever managed to actually complete, as she has not always been the biggest fan of finishing what she starts. Sue has, however, been known to step into a room and immediately map out her escape plan in the case of a zombie attack.

So maybe she's just been conserving her energy for that.
