Suki Michelle

Biography

Chicago-based Suki Michelle has a degree in fine arts - but these days she paints with words, not oils. Pictures from the dark side. Characters with powerful desires, doubtful morality, and as much personal hell as Suki can squeeze into the mix.

Her co-written novel (with Carlyle Clark), The Apocalypse Gene, was released in 2011 by Parker Publishing, Inc. It is a highly unique urban fantasy set in a near-future dystopian Chicago.

In addition to writing fiction, Suki also works as a ghost-blogger for a Chicago celebrity. She has an uncanny ability to find the right voice for her characters, whether fictional or not, fashioning style to context. Then she just lets her people do the talking, and we're right there next to them.

Suki and Carlyle have several projects in the works. Stay tuned!

An interesting twist on vampire lore. I never quite thought of fangers as mafia types. Pretty cool, though I wondered what use immortals would have for money when they can just take and/or slurp whatever they want. Something to think about when you read this scary tale!

A satisfying mix of violence, sex, humor and an overriding creepy weirdness. These stories are a quick, entertaining read with descriptions that bring the reader directly into the setting and dialogue that defines the characters and advances the story. The writer somehow evokes a misplaced sympathy for the hairy destructive beasts. Well done! Recommended, but not late at night.
